About Snappy Living

SnappyLiving is a home and garden website dedicated to making life easier. Chances are you’ve come here looking for a DIY tip, a cleaning hack or an easy recipe. We’ve also got organization tips to help you with planning your life, getting the most out of small spaces, and pulling together special events.

If you feel like you’ve got too much going on, or there should be a simpler way to keep up with your life, you’ve come to the right place. We believe life should be a snap.

How it started

SnappyLiving began in 2006 as a hodgepodge collection of tips for making life simpler. My own life was becoming too stressful, and I had to figure out ways to make it easier.

It seemed even when life is going well, it’s full of so many obligations and chores and hassles – and so little time. So many things you have to do that it seems you’ll never get to the stuff you want to do.

And the more technology enables us to get done, the more we’re expected to get done. Most of us have less leisure time than our grandparents did.

Making Small Changes

Don’t you love it when people advise you to make your life less stressful? Well, duh. If it was that simple, we’d all be stress-free. But there’s only so much you can do about the big stress – job, sometimes family, problems that have to be solved urgently. Not all of this can just be dumped by the wayside while you dip your toes in some beach sand.

So I decided to make small changes when I started this site. I went on a mission to:

  • Save time spent on routine tasks. If you can shave 10 minutes out of your daily tasks, you’ve just saved yourself 2.5 days a year. If you can cut out something that takes up three hours a week, you just saved yourself 6.5 days. Whacha gonna do with that saved time?
  • Spend less without sacrificing lifestyle. Saving isn’t always about doing without – it’s about getting the most bang for your buck so you can have the best lifestyle possible on the money available to you.
  • Enjoy more peace of mind. Learning how to simplify life can cut down on stress.
  • Have more fun and time with loved ones. When you’re able to spend less time on chores and drudge work, you can spend more time with people you love, or on hobbies or other pursuits you find fulfilling.

I’m always looking for ways to simplify life and make it more rewarding. My tips are all about helping you make smart choices that save time and money, tame your hectic life, and help you reclaim your energy for family, hobbies, creativity, spirituality or just relaxation. You’ll find suggestions for everything from simple, healthy, quick-fix meals to lease negotiating tips and DIY projects.
