If you’re wondering about narcissism, or dealing with someone you already know is a narcissist, these books may help you. I’ve read most of them, and they all come highly recommended.

Becoming the Narcissist’s Nightmare: How to Devalue and Discard the Narcissist While Supplying Yourself is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a guide to dealing with a narcissist in your life and overcoming narcissistic abuse. Many reviewers consider it the best, or one of the best, books on this topic.
Overcome Gaslighting: How To Disarm Manipulative People, Break Free Of Domestic Violence And Recover From Emotionally Abusive Relationships. This is a more general book on dealing with gaslighting, which is a favorite tool of narcissists. But they’re not the only ones who use it.
You may run into this one in the workplace, in relationships, even with people you think are good friends. What it looks like is that you’re always wrong.
They tell you your perceptions aren’t accurate. That your feelings are “too sensitive” or otherwise inappropriate. They twist your words, tell you your perceptions are all wrong, and make you question your sanity.
But it’s all a technique to make you stop challenging them and just take their lies and deceptions as normal. This book will help you learn to recognize and deal with this form of emotional abuse.
Psychopath Free (Expanded Edition): Recovering from Emotionally Abusive Relationships With Narcissists, Sociopaths, and Other Toxic People. You may be surprised to learn that the term “psychopath” is kind of sort of interchangeable with narcissist, or Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Not all psychopaths are Hannibal Lechter. Many of them avoid violence completely, yet manage to destroy lives around them.
