I blog for a living. SnappyLiving earns money with affiliate links and display ads.
- Display Ads. These ads appear around the website, and are delivered through ad networks. They are served by third party providers who give me a percentage of the revenue. It’s a lot like how TV works: you get to watch the shows for free because the advertisers are footing the bill by buying airtime for their commercials. I get paid for displaying these ads, whether you click or interact with them, or not.
- Affiliate Links. If an article contains a link to a product on another website, it’s probably an affiliate link (I’m slowly trying to update the posts with notices, but I’m sure there are still a lot of unmarked links on the site). If you click those links and end up purchasing anything, I get a small commission.
Keeping it honest. I am always honest in my reviews because display advertisers and affiliates are easily replaceable, but my reputation and the trust of my readers is not.
What about paid reviews/sponsored posts? I haven’t written either yet, at this point, but if and when I do, I will clearly disclose that to you in the post as well as on this page. I will also disclose if I receive an item for free to review. If you have any questions, please send me an email!
