Make The Best Homemade Shower Cleaner Recipe

So, how do you make the best shower cleaner? It’s simple! All you need is a few common household ingredients – most importantly, Dawn and vinegar. 

To make this DIY homemade cleaner, you will need:

• 1 cup of distilled white vinegar
• 1 cup of water
• 1 tablespoon of Dawn dish soap (or another good grease-cutting brand)
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for fresh scent)

Simply mix all the ingredients together in a spray bottle and you’re ready to go. The vinegar acts as a natural disinfectant and helps to loosen dirt and grime, while the dish soap cuts through grease and soap scum.

Vinegar also helps to deodorize, so you will get rid of any odors developing in your shower or tub area. Lemon juice adds a nice lemony scent.

It’s gentle on tile and grout as well as enclosures. It’s safe to use on any finish I’m aware of (though if you have refinished or installed a new tub, check instructions from your product manufacturers).

You can add essential oils for scent too. Some people believe tea tree oil boosts the cleaning power of a recipe like this one. 

Studies about tea tree oil are still ongoing. At this point, they continue suggesting that tea tree oil is actually a disinfectant. Until this is proven, I wouldn’t rely on it alone, but combining it with other cleaners certainly couldn’t hurt.

To use this cleaner, just spray it onto the surfaces of your shower, focusing on areas with dirt or stains. Let it sit for a few minutes to break down the grime.

Then wipe it away with a soft cloth or sponge. For extra tough stains, you may need to scrub gently or repeat the process.
