‘Tis the season for Super Bowl parties, and that means Super Bowl snacks! Whether you’re watching the game with friends or enjoying it all by yourself, it’s a tradition to have some great munchies on hand. We’ve put together this list of snacks which are easy to chomp on while you’re watching the big game.
We’ve got dips and nibbles – lightweight foods that don’t fill you up too much. And we have the appetizers – the real “meat and potatoes” behind a finger food party.
This list is also light on deep fried items. As delicious as they can be, deep frying can be a lot of work and you can usually get as much deliciousness from a recipe that calls for baking or skillet frying.
A few quick rules of thumb:
–You don’t have to serve dip with corn chips. You can also try potato chips, corn chips, pita chips, bagel chips, crackers, pretzels, carrot sticks, broccoli florets, cherry tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, celery sticks, cauliflower florets, and pretty much any type of veggie.
–Nibbles are wonderful because they’re relatively light and easy finger foods you can pick ’em up and pop ’em in on automatic pilot – that means not missing any exciting moments!
–While all these items would all normally be considered snacks or appetizers, keep in mind that in this case, they’re serving as the whole meal. Start with lighter foods and then move onto the heavier dishes.
–You should serve some Super Bowl cocktails along with beer!
